Bengali/Vernacular name: Ratkheya.

Description of the plant: An herb with annual aerial shoot, 40-60 cm tall, with perennial subterranean rhizome. Leaves sessile, lanceolate, and long caudate. Inflorescence glabrous, 20-45 cm long, arising before shoot or along with shoot, peduncles subtented by 3 oblong, glabrous sheaths. Labellum obovate, yellow, base cuneate, apex bilobed.

Ethnomedicinal uses: A paste is made with the rhizome of the plant is applied on the affected part of the body for relief of body pain.

Juice extracted from the rhizome of the plant is given for the treatment of hepatomegaly.

Distribution: It is found in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban districts.
