Dr. M. Oliur Rahman has been serving as a Professor in the Department of Botany, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He received his Ph.D. from Hiroshima University, Japan in 2003. His research interests reflect on Plant Taxonomy, Biodiversity, Moleular Systematics and Bioprospecting of Medicinal Plants. He has published over 95 publications in different prestigious international and national journals including some books. He has made significant contribution in preparing National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan of Bangladesh, Medicinal Plants Protection Act Bangladesh, Red Data Book of Vascular Plants of Bangladesh, and Encyclopedia of Flora and Fauna of Bangladesh. He served as the Executive Editor and Chief Editor of the “Bangladesh Journal of Plant Taxonomy” (Clarivate Analytics).
