Md. Salah Uddin earned his B.Sc. in Botany in 2005 and M.Sc. in Biotechnology with a thesis received from the Department of Botany, University of Chittagong in 2006. He has studied the relationship between plants and people, the field known as ethnobotany, and floristics, the study of botanical diversity within a specific region. Most of his research is in remote areas of Bangladesh, where he works with indigenous cultures to document plant diversity, knowledge of its traditional utilization. He had done research work on the field of Plant Taxonomy, Ethnobotany, Plant Database.
He compiled and evaluated the original data from the scientific literature, journal, website, and developed the first online plant database named Flora of Bangladesh. He also developed the Medicinal Plant Database of Bangladesh-MPB and designed the Ethnobotanical Database of Chittagong Hill Tracts. He published five books and thirteen articles in international journal. He is the founder of Nature Conservation Network-NCN and editor of NATURE INFO. Md. Salah Uddin is a PhD student at Kyungpook National University, Korea Republic.
